Tasneem Kabir suffered broken teeth and a smashed lip after she was hit by Michael Ayoade, 34, as she walked to college in Plaistow, Newham, on the afternoon of November 13, 2012. He was arrested after police released CCTV footage of the horrific attack (left), which showed Ayoade jogging away from the scene as Miss Kabir lay unconscious on the ground (right). Miss Kabir's assault is an example of the Islamaphobic attacks that are becoming increasingly common in the capital.

It isn't right that women are constantly judged by society based on the clothes they wear. It's funny how people are inclined to treat a woman differently depending on the way she dressed. This is a modern take on feminism, as the woman was simply making her way to college yet because she wore a head scarf she was thrown to the ground. What is less shocking is the fact that the assailant was a man who probably judged her based on her appearance. Women are constantly subjected to feminism in more negative ways. No matter how or what a woman wear she should not be judge simply on her clothing. Clothing does not fit a person it is the person who chooses to wear clothes that fit them.
